K.G. Kandigai is a remote impoverished rural village 90 km from Chennai.
Boarding Home for boys
To help support regular attendance at the local schools, Cuomo Foundation built a boarding home for boys. Completed in 2005, the dormitories accommodate (age range 11-18 yrs). The complex provides a dining hall, kitchen, study and recreational rooms, toilets and showers.
Boarding Home for girls
A similar building and facilities was completed in 2010 to accommodate up to 100 girls (age range 11-18 yrs).
